Nfc Readers Professionals Current mobile phones are equipped with another technology that would allow owners to communicate, share information, and even pay bills using their smart phones. What is NFC and how it Works
NFC which stands for Near Field Communication is a type of communication or exchange of data that relies on electromagnetic radio fields. The technology is akin to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi since NFC also allows a user to acquire or transfer data wirelessly. It is also similar to RFID but with the exception that NFC devices has to be within close proximity to each other to work.

NFC is available in two forms?passive and active NFC.

Passive devices are similar to posts on the wall. The post only contains information for you to read. A good example is barcodes provided in magazines. The barcode is considered passive since it needs another NFC enabled device to extract the information contained in the barcode.

The other type is active which are electronic devices which can extract information from a passive NFC. In the example given earlier, the active NFC system is available in the smart phone. The phone is equipped with a system that can acquire data from the passive barcode in the magazine. You can use your phone to read information on passive tags and you can even share or alter the information if such action is allowed.

NFC Technology on Android Devices
Android has confirmed that it will be embracing the NFC technology because it sees the technology as something useful especially in commerce and security.

Currently, there are brands equipped with NFC system. Samsung, LG, HTC, and Sony have fitted their phones with NFC technology so users can simply gather and share data through electromagnetic radio field. Right now, it is possible for users to get discounts and avail promos by reading the passive tag using their android phones. Downloading an android NFC reader app from the Google Play Store will also transform your phone into a scanner. Simply download and install the app and start using your phone to scan passive codes and share the information to other NFC device users.

Nowadays, it is possible to indentify or track a person, animal, or object using a state of the art technology of radio frequency identification or RFID. This technology uses radio frequency electromagnetic fields to transfer data for identification or tracking purposes. A person with a RFID chip for instance can be identified or traced since the chip contains the information of the person which is automatically read by a RFID reader.

Uses of RFID
Currently, RFID system is widely used in different industries. Industries that rely on identification and tracking use RFID to manage their assets and inventories properly. For example, RFID chips are used in production of electronic devices like mobile phones, TVs, PCs and more since it is easier for workers to track the progress of the objects when they can simply scan the items during production. RFID technology is also used in livestock because tracking farm animals is important to maintain quality control inside the farm. To give a concrete example, farmers insert RFID tags to their farm animals. Using the technology, they can easily locate the animals ready for breeding since the tag contains information of the animal.

RFID technology is now also adapted in touch free payment systems. It is now possible to turn ordinary mobile phones into devices capable of transferring payment and also as RFID reader. The chip is wired directly to your bank information so you can use your phone to pay for stuff so you wonÕt have to carry money or credit card anymore. Since the tag can store sensitive details, enhanced security features are added to secure your information. You need to input your password or pin before releasing any valuable information.

RFID Technology Today
Nowadays, you can use RFID to track or identify personal belongings. This is because the technology is made affordable for everyone to use. The technology is very affordable these days that you can purchase a set for a couple of dollars. Of course sophisticated RFID systems which can contain more data and can be read using advanced technology are more expensive. You can now use RFID to tag your pets so you can easily locate them if in case they got out of your house. If for instance, you pet can ran away, a person who picked your pet can identify the owner and address using a scanner like the USB RFID reader which is available universally.
